More on The Bone Room…

Check this out…

I just came across this video on The Bone Room’s website. It wasn’t there since the last time I visited so I was pleasantly surprised. Here you can get a much better description of the place, and learn how to prepare a sad dead rat skeleton into a nice useful skeleton. Please keep these videos coming!

The Bone Room

The Bone Room is a unique little store in Berkeley, CA. Located on Solano Avenue, it is surrounded by restaurants and other specialty stores. It is only about the size of my living room, but you never know what kind of treasure you’ll find. The highlight of the store is their very large pet snake in the back of the room.

What makes this place interesting is the number and variety of natural history specimens they carry. You will likely be able to find real bones (articulated and/or disarticulated) of fish, birds, small mammals, and humans, just to name a few. Special pathological specimens and casts are also available both in store and online. Don’t be fooled by the name though, this place also carries fossils, taxidermy specimens, drawers full of insects, specimen jars, and gifts. The photos here show just some of the things I’ve acquired from there back when I was living in the area. If there is anything specific you are looking for, the friendly staff will try their best to help you locate it. Visit www.boneroom.com.
